A Few GWAEA Notes for Tipton CSD Staff

  • Early Literacy Support

-Tipton and Grant Wood AEA staff will collaborate to implement, review and develop aligned instruction to support every student to meet the FAST benchmarks for literacy.

    - Tipton and Grant Wood AEA staff will collaborate to clarify the “what” of literacy by prioritizing literacy standards.  When students do not meet the literacy benchmark as evidence from the FAST assessment support will be provided to implement evidence based intervention and collect progress monitoring evidence from the intervention.

  • Special Education

    - Tipton and Grant Wood AEA staff will collaborate to provide evidence based social skills instruction for IEP students. The implementation of the social skills instruction will include modeling by Grant Wood AEA staff and collecting samples of instruction and student progress.

  • Collaboration and Leadership

    - Tipton teachers teams meet at each building have collaboration meetings at least once each month.  The tasks of the teams vary from the following:  prioritize standards for content area(s), review recent student assessment evidence, design interventions for challenged student’s and align a progress monitoring process for the intervention.

    - Tipton will begin planning for the implementation of the Iowa Teacher Leader System during the 15-16 school year.  Grant Wood staff will provide support professional learning support for the launch of the Teacher Leaders practice in the 16-17 school year.

  • MTSS and Core Instruction

    - Tipton and Grant Wood AEA staff will collaborate to review, revise and implement the MTSS (Multi-tiered System of Supports). The collaborative support will include developing priority standards and assessments aligned to the standards. Grant Wood AEA will provide support to effectively integrate technology to enhance core instruction to support priority standards.
