Flood Recovery Update

Cliff Ehlinger reported that the cleaning and restoration work by ServiceMaster continues throughout the Sixth St. facility. Most all of the building contents have been moved outside for cleaning. All of the hollow core doors will be replaced, and all of the partitions have been removed.
The Print Shop
Tara Johannsen shared that the Print Shop will be functional again on Wednesday.
The Media Center
Char Haddy thanked everyone for the assistance to box and move the Media Center. The staff has completed setting up shelving in the Conference Center. More information will be forthcoming regarding what collections will be circulated as some collections may not be able to be circulated for space issues.
The agency phone system is still down and parts have been ordered.
FEMA Kick-Off Meeting
The FEMA Kick-off meeting for the agency’s recovery efforts will be held on Thursday, July 3.
School Leader Update Features Flood Damage Survey
The Iowa Department of Education School Leader Update distributed a survey to all schools and AEAs to assess flood damages. Barb Harms will complete this survey for Grant Wood AEA.
Volunteers are still needed to help with cleanup efforts of employee homes affected by the flood. Those interested should call 929-7538 to arrange. Also needed are airtight, waterproof tubs for storage purposes.
The Wednesday update will take place at 4 p.m. at the Sixth St. facility.
