Nominations due March 9 for the Grant Wood AEA Staff Recognition and Partnerships Banquet

Saying “thank you” to your co-workers, community volunteers and/or the people with whom you work can be wonderfully uplifting to these special people. It can also be satisfying and meaningful to you, personally.  Please consider nominating one or more persons you have worked with or observed as “going the extra mile” with children, youth or schools in Area 10. The categories you may nominate individuals for are:

  • Friend of Education (usually business and community partners)

  • Educational Partner (usually school personnel)

  • Caring Colleague (GWAEA staff only)

Only Grant Wood AEA staff may nominate people for these awards.  A random group of Grant Wood AEA staff members always comprises the awards selection committee. Click for a list of previous honorees.

Contact George Held (ext 6714) or Valerie Taylor Hill (6824) or email us your nomination formNominations are due by March 9 in the Communications Office.

The awards will be presented at the Grant Wood AEA Staff Recognition and Partnerships Banquet, which will be held at the Ponderosa Ballroom in Walford on May 3, 2012.

Get Registered for iPad Workshops!
We have the first round of workshops ready to go! We will be offering more app specific workshops after this first round of basics. Here is a list of the workshops with the descriptions that we will be offering and they are open to LEA staff as well, so if you know a teacher or administrator who would benefit from them let them know! You can go to the PD site to get signed up!  Remember to bring your iPads to the workshop!

No more “”
We have removed access to the Apple Account. This means that you will not be able to update any apps that were downloaded on this account, or be able to sign in with this account to download any future apps. We have had some issues with people installing apps on that account and making purchases instead of using their agency Apple ID or personal Apple ID. This means the original apps that came on your device won’t be able to be updated. We are recommending you remove those apps and reinstall the ones you like on either your personal or agency account. Here are directions on how to transfer apps to another account.

If you did not order apps and need your agency Apple ID please let us know and we can set up a time to finish the set up for you or you can create a personal Apple ID, you can get one for free by following the instructions here.

App Order Update
If you ordered apps in the second round, we will be contacting you when the apps have been purchased. You will need to come in and get your Agency Apple ID and redeem codes. We will email you!

Thank you

Thank you to all of my friends and colleagues for the outpouring of support in these past weeks since my mother’s death.  All of your kind words and thoughts have helped in so many ways.
I appreciate all of you so much!
