Grant Wood AEA Board Members, Retiring Staff, and Employees: $5

Spouses, Friends and Retired Staff:
$27 per person

Reservations: Due April 8, 2011
Groups may reserve a table. Please submit all reservation requests to Cathy Nelson at the Sixth Street Office, ext. 6544.

All employees with 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, or 35 years of employment with Grant Wood AEA, retirees, and persons nominated and selected by agency staff will be honored.

Health Screen Blood Profile planned during April

Grant Wood AEA will be facilitating a Health Screen Blood Profile in April.  The cost of the blood profile is $19 – the same as last year.  Spouses of employees may also participate at this cost.  Please bring a check made out to Grant Wood AEA that morning.

You do not need an appointment; just leave your name, by phone or e-mail, with the location secretary listed below. 

Please let Barb or Nancy know by March 28th if you plan to participate.

Community Health Charities will deliver an informative 45-minute talk on “Understanding Organ & Tissue Donations - The Power to Bring Hope.” This session will discuss the overall needs for transplantation, the different types of donations that can be done, current regulations and standards, and clarification of common misconceptions. Immediately following the webinar will be an interactive Q&A session where people can ask their specific questions.

PEP Program's Assistive Technology for Your Student workshop rescheduled to Saturday, April 16

Learn about assistive technology tookits for reading, writing, and organization and high tech and low tech tools and web-based tools. The presenter will be Jane Faley-Smith, GWAEA assistive technology consultant.

Parents and educators of students who may benefit from assistive technology in the general or special education classroom are invited to attend.

Online Learning Opportunity - Teachers Wanted

Iowa educators teaching in the areas of Algebra I, English I, Physical Science or Social Studies are invited to apply to become part of a select statewide team who will be implementing a new digital eCurriculum.

Literacy Intervention Fair, June 7

8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Grant Wood AEA Conference Center
Course: 19008-10-01
Registration deadline: May 25, 2011

This workshop is designed to provide participants the chance to view and interact with reading intervention materials for struggling readers. Publishing companies
will each have a booth to display their materials. They will also each provide a 30-45 minute presentation highlighting the target for the interventions, how data is gathered and monitored, and research based results.
