All-Agency Inservice on Monday, August 13

 

We look forward to seeing you on Monday, August 13 at the Fall All-Agency Inservice. This year’s event will be held at College Community's Prairie High School performing arts auditorium, just as it has the last two years.

The theme of this year’s inservice and also for much of our work this year will be “Partnering to Improve Learning Outcomes for Every Student.” 


Registration is planned from 8:00-8:55 a.m.; the inservice will begin promptly at
9:00 a.m.
The meeting agenda will include the following:

Assessment Administrators

We are seeking motivated individuals to proctor assessment sessions with 4th-, 8th-, and 12th- grade students in schools for the National Assessment of Educational Progress. Must be available January 28–March 8, 2013. Paid training, paid time and mileage reimbursement for local driving, and weekly paychecks. This is a part-time, temporary position. Walk begins at 9 a.m.

This walk site will be feature music, games, cash raffle, entertainment, face painting, and refreshments.

Registrations received online or postmarked PRIOR to Aug. 17:

$25 per adult
$10 per child

Registrations received on or AFTER Aug. 18, including walk day:
$30 per adult
$12 per child


How to Register:
Online registration/payment is available at http://www.iowasids.org/shoppingCart/categories.asp. Please select 'continue shopping' to register additional walkers. Online registration will end Aug. 16. Participants can also register on the day of the event.

Recycling with Rick

Did you know every year Americans discard 1.6 million pens? Placed end to end they would stretch 151 miles. Let’s do our part to recycle unwanted pens and pencils from home and office.

Pen and Pencil Donation boxes are in both break rooms at Grant Wood AEA Sixth Street facility and one in the Southern facility. We will partner with Terracycle to keep these items out of the landfill. Any brand and any size pens, pencils, mechanical pencils, wooden pencils, markers and highlighters, sharpie and dry eraser markers are accepted. No crayons, please.
