Iowa School Board Recognition Month, May 2014
"Educate! Advocate! Celebrate!"

Volunteer school board members serve thousands of hours each year working to ensure every Iowa student receives a solid education.

In recognition of the dedicated service of Iowa's nearly 2,000 volunteer school board members, May is annually designated School Board Recognition Month by the Iowa Association of School Boards.

Educate.jpg

This year’s theme, “Educate! Advocate! Celebrate!,” recognizes that Iowa’s volunteer school board members are providing innovative leadership, through responsibilities ranging from strong financial stewardship to ensuring high-quality curriculum, to make sure all students are able to grow and prosper through their education.

A nine-member board of directors elected by area school boards governs Grant Wood AEA. Board members represent designated segments of the agency’s service area called director districts. They are elected for four-year rotating terms by the school district board members in their director districts. The board is responsible for approving AEA policies, programs and budget.

"Grant Wood AEA board members provide support for all students throughout our service area," said Joe Crozier, GWAEA chief administrator. "We want to thank our Grant Wood AEA board members for the work they do improving the education and the lives of children in our area."

We would like to recognize and thank the members of the Grant Wood AEA Board of Directors for their commitment and dedication.

iPad App Orders

We are transitioning into distributing agency purchased apps in a new and more efficient way. In order to receive agency purchased apps from this point forward, you must add your device to the Meraki system and authorize an Apple ID for us to send the apps to (the nice thing is it can be your personal Apple ID, so less to remember).

ipad

In preparation for our next agency app order you will have to complete the two steps from your iPad or you will be unable to receive agency purchased apps.

Step 1: Install the Meraki MDM Profile on your device - iPad Air users did this when they picked up their new devices. Everyone else can follow the instructions below:

Step 2: Authorize Meraki to install apps - You will receive an email from a CISCO Meraki email address and must tap the link in the email and authorize an Apple ID for agency apps to be assigned. This can be your personal Apple ID if you would like or one you create.

Fill out this form to have the authorization email sent to you, then follow the directions in the video below to authorize your Apple ID.

If you have any questions about this process, please do not hesitate to contact Stacy Behmer (sbehmer@gwaea.org) or Jonathan Wylie (jwylie@gwaea.org) for information.
