GWAEA Organizational Leadership Cohort Celebrates Graduation

2014ol

The 2014 Organization Leadership Cadre celebrated the culmination of their two-year learning program on Tuesday, May 27, by presenting to a group of agency managers and Organizational Leadership members, past, present and future.

Members of this year's graduating cadre include (left to right) Kim Novotny, Team Leader Media Center, and Carrie Manternach, Special Education Curriculum Specialist. Joining them is Lisa Wilson, GWAEA programs/services administrator and coordinator of the agency's Organizational Leadership Program.

Participants spend two years in the program, developing essential knowledge and skills for leading in an organization and working as a cohort group to learn and apply leadership and systems theory. Each participant is assigned to a Leadership Advisor, who helps provide assignments and projects that expose them to areas different than their usual job. Participants also participate in field experiences to observe and engage in dialogue with position leaders at work.

Grant Wood AEA staff entering the second year of the two-year program include Kathleen Goslinga, media assistant; Valerie Taylor Hill, public information specialist; Angie Miller, school psychologist; and Patrick Lussenhop, school psychologist.

Agency staff who have been selected as the 2014-2016 Organizational Leadership cohort include Myka Forrest, lead application developer; Tina Gudenkauf; special education consultant; and Jonathan Wylie, technology consultant.

For more information about the program, contact Lisa Wilson, GWAEA programs/services administrator.
