Improvements Coming to Google Drive

Access to the new Drive for the web will be offered over the coming weeks. When you agree to give it a try, you’ll experience a new look and better performance. It's also easier to take some of the most common actions — simply click once on a file to see recent activity, share with friends, or enable offline access. For your organizational files, you now have three easy ways to take group actions on multiple files:

googledrive

right click on the selected files, use the menu above the file area, or simply drag the group to a new location in Drive.

Read more about the changes to the mobile apps and other improvements on the Google Drive Blog or view the video below.

gwaeapdpalooza

This year, we will have two days of technology PD for GWAEA agency staff. The goal of these two days is to provide staff opportunities to learn some new skills and ask questions about some of the tools being used throughout the agency. Workshops will be offered in one room, while there will be another room staffed with technology consultants to help answer any questions on a drop in basis. Some workshops will be repeated throughout the two days and staff will need to preregister for these sessions.

Please go to the GWAEA Professional Development website and click on the GWAEA Staff Training to register. Space is limited!  Additional workshops on Technology Integration will be offered throughout the school year and open to LEA and AEA staff. If you need assistance with registration, please contact Annette Renaud at 399-6767 or arenaud@gwaea.org.

Email Tip

Remember if an email looks questionable, it probably is! Better be safe than sorry and double check with the sender before clicking any links or forwarding it on. Do NOT give out any passwords online. If something is shared with you they only need your username, not a password.

Install Meraki

In preparation for our next agency app order, you will have to complete the two steps below from your iPad or you will be unable to receive agency purchased apps.

ipad

Step 1:

Install the Meraki MDM Profile on your device - iPad Air users did this when they picked up their new devices. Everyone else can follow the instructions below:

Step 2: Authorize Meraki to install apps - You will receive an email from a CISCO Meraki email address and must tap the link in the email and authorize an Apple ID for agency apps to be assigned. This can be your personal Apple ID if you would like or one you create.

Fill out this form to have the authorization email sent to you, then follow the directions in the video below to authorize your Apple ID.

If you have any questions about this process, please do not hesitate to contact
Stacy
Behmer (sbehmer@gwaea.org) or Jonathan Wylie (jwylie@gwaea.org) for more information.
