Grant Wood AEA's Blended Learning Team is welcoming more than 200 educators from 12 school districts for professional learning opportunities during the 2018-2019 school year. The Blended Links provide support for school teams of administrators, coaches and teachers, as they move from traditional to blended and personalized delivery of instruction.

Blended learning pillars include student voice, pace, place and path and student ownership of learning. The blended learning instructional framework utilizes small group instruction, data and flexible learning spaces to meet learner needs. Technology is used for assessment and provides information for teachers to guide instruction.

GWAEA's support for blended learning began four years ago as Iowa rolled out its initiative to implement blended learning as a model for the state.

The GWAEA Blended Learning Team is partnering with national presenter Marcia Kish to provide professional learning for area educators. Kish has been working and implementing Blended and Personalized Learning across the country. She provides coaching and professional development support in collaboration with schools to implement blended learning.

Reminder to Update Print Name Information in ESS

When the Agency plans meetings where name tags are printed, or for other general Agency communications, some people prefer to use a less formal first name; and employees have the option to change this information in the Employee Self Service (ESS) System.  If you would like to update your "print name" in the ESS, please use the following procedure:

Thank you for keeping this information current.

A Message for Grant Wood AEA Health Plan Participants

Grant Wood AEA health plan participants, when you're sick or hurt, covered employees and  families could pay $817 for care, or nothing at all. It depends on where you go for treatment.

Should you choose Doctor on Demand? Your personal doctor?  A walk-in clinic? Or the ER?

Check out the cost breakdown and get smart about your health care spending.

Thank You

THANK YOU.....During my back surgery/recovery...if you sent one of many, many cards, gift cards, provided a meal, a hug, made a visit, or I just simply crossed your mind, THANK YOU!  Even when those feelings of being overwhelmed or lonely hit, I knew in my heart I was never really alone and for that I am grateful! I feel very blessed and lucky for all of the support I/my family received from my AEA friends and family.
