Regional Student Voices Forum planned
Sept. 11, 2013, 9:00-11:30 a.m.

The Innovation Collaborative for Personalized Learning (formerly the Eastern Iowa Compact) will host a Regional Student Voices Forum, Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013 at Grant Wood Area Education Agency, 4401 Sixth St. S.W. Cedar Rapids. The forum is planned from 9:00-11:30 a.m. Participants will include teams of four students in grades 7-12 from districts in the Grant Wood AEA service area. Approximately 80 students will be in attendance.

The forum is an opportunity for students to share their ideas about what they need from the school experience with adults working to design a new system for the Innovation Age. By harnessing the power of student voice, we can create a system that better prepares students for their future.  This forum is an opportunity for students to share their ideas about what they need from the school experience and to provide ideas on how educators can personalize the learning environment.

The agenda will allow significant time for student input. In addition the event will be videotaped for sharing online and with other interested community partners at a later date.

This event is sponsored by Grant Wood AEA and will be hosted by the Regional Coordinating Committee of the Innovation Collaborative for Personalized Learning.
